A Wee Soliloquy Upon Future Prospects

Hmmm...so I guess this is the time of life when one's future prospects all look rather vague, brilliant and ceaselessly unattainable. Where to go to college, if indeed college is the right place to go? What to study if/once one is accepted? Why, and what for? And of course the inevitable question, how to pay for higher education? Questions like these have been asked as long as there's been a reason to ask them, I suppose, but it doesn't make one feel much more secure knowing that fact. Someone once said that whatever [set of work-related activities, skills] you enjoyed doing most are those you were built to do (ostensibly as a career). While this line of thinking is an excellent starting place for most, it makes things somewhat more complicated for those with multiple interests and eclectic skill sets. With enough introspection, however, it seems that one could indeed figure out whether their life goals can be better attained through the acquisition of a college degree or some other method, like a trade school. And priorities change, of course...whether art, languages, or anything else should take precedence in one's quest for improvement is a never ending question for most. However, I feel that one should do their best to expand and develop any skills they possess to the utmost of their ability, to become "well rounded" in their approach and perspectives to life. One isn't given abilities and talents to be wasted or undeveloped...all of them in some way could become useful in the future, since no one knows what situations or opportunities which may be presented. In all, it's best to be prepared for everything.
